Rosasharn Farm is a small scale sustainable family livestock farm, including sustainable, chemical free vegetable and fruit gardens. We rely on volunteer farm assistants and interns to keep everything running smoothly and sustainably.

Interns enjoy a private room and bath (or private camper in the woods) and shared meals in the family house in exchange for 15-20 hours per week of farm labor. We ask for a 3-6 month commitment to the position, however many interns stay longer.

Interns must be physically fit, enjoy independent working, spending time out doors, love and respect animals and children, and be willing to participate in semi-communal living. For the health and safety of all who live here, we have a strict non-smoking policy on the farm.

Chores include cleaning goat, sheep, hog, poultry, and horse barns; participating in daily feeding, watering, and milking; loading hay; cutting fire wood; clearing brush; fencing; etc. Household chores include light housework and cooking.

Interns have the opportunity to learn the routines of life and skills needed on a sustainable, diversified family farm. Other opportunities include participation in the maintenance of a dairy goat herd, birthing, routine procedures, and health care. Interns will be exposed to the care of sheep, poultry, hogs, and horses, training of livestock guardian dogs as well as slaughtering and butchering of food animals, cheese making, sustainable gardening practices, food preservation, soap making, carpentry skills, and various construction projects.

Our family consists of a married couple, children ranging from elementary schoolers to college graduates, extended family members, many house guests, students, WWOOFers, and interns who come here participate in farm workshops, events, and programs.

We are located in Rehoboth, MA; a 20 minute drive from Providence, RI and a 1 hour drive from Boston. The farm is biking distance from train stations in Providence and Attleboro.

Please send resume and references to and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. We would be happy to put you in touch with former interns who can share their experiences here.
